Governor Ducey announces next wave of school bus awards
February 11, 2019: Governor Doug Ducey announced today that an additional 35 school systems were approved for funding for the purchase of 67 new diesel and alternative fuel schools buses, totaling $7.5 million. These are the latest rounds of funding (waves 3 and 4) awarded as part of a $38 million plan to provide low-income schools with new school buses utilizing settlement funds from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust. This follows earlier funding announcements and brings the total program funding to nearly $32 million for 112 school systems for the purchase of 285 new school buses.
