Governor Ducey announces first wave of school bus awards
December 6, 2018: Governor Doug Ducey announced today that 55 school districts and charter schools have received approval for the purchase of 142 diesel and alternative fuel schools buses, totaling $15.9 million. These are the first schools (Wave 1) that will receive funding through Arizona’s Lower-Emission School Bus Replacement Program. In June, Governor Doug Ducey released a $38 million plan to purchase more than 280 new school buses in low-income communities across the state utilizing settlement funds from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust.
